Terms & Conditions
My work is created independently and with care, with many pieces being unique or made specifically for an individual. These terms are intended to keep the process of purchasing or commissioning my work clear, fair and personal.
Request to Purchase
Pieces available on my website are offered on a request to purchase basis.
Submitting a request does not commit you to purchasing a piece. I will contact you personally to confirm its availability and discuss payment, delivery or collection.
A purchase is confirmed once these details have been agreed and payment has been received.
Handmade and One-of-a-kind pieces
Each piece is individually made by hand and may show subtle variations or characteristics of the making process. These are part of the nature of handmade work and are not necessarily faults.
I make every effort to represent each piece accurately through photographs and descriptions. Please be aware that colour and appearance can vary slightly between photographs, screens and the piece itself.
Bespoke and Custom Commissions
Bespoke work is a collaborative process. Before committing to a commission, we will discuss the design, materials, budget, timescale and how the finished piece will reach you.
Once we have agreed on the design and I have provided a quote, a 50% deposit will be required to confirm the commission and allow me to begin purchasing materials and making your piece.
The remaining balance will be due on completion and before the piece is dispatched or collected, unless we have agreed otherwise.
Because a bespoke piece is created specifically for you, I do not offer change-of-mind returns or refunds on bespoke or custom work.
I want you to feel happy with the finished piece. If, on completion, you feel that something is not as you expected, please speak to me. Where reasonably possible, I am happy to make adjustments to the design at no additional charge so that we can arrive at a result you are happy with.
The extent of any changes will depend on the nature of the piece, materials and work involved, and we will discuss this together before any alterations are made.
Changes During a Bespoke Commission
Once making has begun, significant changes to an agreed design may involve additional materials, work or time.
If you request a substantial change from the design we originally agreed upon, I will discuss any additional cost or revised timescale with you before proceeding.
Deposits and Cancellations
The 50% deposit confirms your bespoke commission and allows me to begin purchasing materials and committing time to making your piece.
If you need to cancel a commission after work has begun or materials have been purchased specifically for your piece, please contact me as soon as possible.
Any refund of the deposit will be considered based on the stage the commission has reached and any materials or work already committed to the piece.
Timescales
As each piece is made independently and often by hand, timescales can vary.
For bespoke work, I will give you an estimated completion time before you confirm your commission. If something unexpected affects that timescale, I will contact you and keep you informed.
Payment
Prices and payment arrangements will always be confirmed before a purchase or commission is agreed.
For bespoke commissions, a 50% deposit is required once the design, quote and delivery or collection arrangements have been agreed.
The remaining balance is due once the piece is completed and before it is dispatched or collected, unless otherwise agreed.
Delivery and Collection
How your piece will reach you, together with any delivery costs, will be discussed and agreed before your purchase or commission is confirmed.
Pieces will be carefully packaged and, where appropriate, sent using a tracked and/or insured delivery service.
Returns - Available Website Pieces
For pieces purchased from my available collection, I offer a 15-day change-of-mind return period from the date you receive your piece.
If you wish to return a piece, please contact me within 15 days of receiving it.
The piece must be returned in its original condition and must not have been damaged through wear, misuse or improper care. Returned pieces will be assessed before a refund is issued.
Once the return has been accepted, I will arrange a full refund of the purchase price.
If you choose to return the piece, return delivery costs are your responsibility. I recommend returning the pieces using a tracked and insured service to ensure it reaches me safely.
Faults and Repairs
I take great care in making each piece and want my work to be enjoyed for years to come.
If you believe your piece has broken or developed a fault as a result of the way it was made, please get in touch with me. I will assess the piece and, where the issue is found to be a manufacturing fault, I will repair it free of charge.
Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or damage caused through inappropriate wear or care is not considered a manufacturing fault. However, you are still very welcome to contact me and, where possible, I will be happy to discuss repair options with you.
Caring for Your Piece
Handmade pieces should be treated with care. Where appropriate, I will provide guidance on caring for your particular piece and its materials.
If you are ever unsure about how to care for your piece, please contact me.
Copyright and Designs
Unless otherwise agreed, my designs, drawings, photographs and other creative work shown on this website remain my intellectual property.
Purchasing or commissioning a piece does not transfer copyright or the right to reproduce my designs commercially.
Contact
Good communication is an important part of purchasing or commissioning handmade work. If you have a question or concern at any stage, please contact me and I will do my best to resolve it with you directly.
